On the basis of an extremely rich, ancient tradition,
the women of the Janakpur Women's Development Centre have created new,
highly original individual forms of artistic expression. Their workshop
in the south of Nepal is the centre of a renaissance of Maithil culture
and, at the same time, a source of renewal and social transformation for
the women of Nepal.
